  4. I want my 3D LUTs to appear in the drop-down list of the Load 3D LUT option in Adobe Photoshop. How can I do it?

In order to make your 3D LUTs appear in the drop-down list of the Load 3D LUT option in Adobe Photoshop, you have to copy your LUTs into a specific location on your hard drive. However, before you copy your LUTs into this specific location, please consider this:

  1. Adobe Photoshop poses a limit on the number of 3D LUTs that can appear in the drop-down list. If you have a lot of 3D LUTs, not all of them will appear in the list.
  2. More importantly, since we’ll have to copy the files into the Adobe Photoshop installation, these 3D LUTs will be overwritten once you update your version of Adobe Photoshop to a newer one. If you don’t have a backup of your 3D LUTs, these LUTs may get lost forever.

If the reason you want the 3D LUTs to appear in the drop-down list is speed of choosing the different LUTs and finding the most suitable one, please consider instead using our Layer Comps file available for download from your My Account section.

This file was specifically designed to help you decide in the most efficient way what’s the most suitable 3D LUT for your color grade.

If you’d still like your 3D LUTs to show in the drop-down list of the Load 3D LUT option please follow these steps:

Mac

  1. Extract the LUTs from the downloadable .zip file.
  2. Select the 3D LUTs you’d like to copy. Make sure you’re copying the 3D LUTs only and not the folder they’re in.
  3. Copy the 3D LUTs in the following location: Applications > Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 > Presets > 3DLUTs
